Thin is in

Sometimes I keep funny weird things that they think they’re throwing out at work. I was on my way to toss out a coffee maker sample when this little piece dropped out and fell on the floor. I’m not sure where it went and didn’t bother to take the time to figure it out, but kept it because it was reflective and had a short message written upon it. ‘steam only’. I like the thin type. This will go in my ‘inspiration’ box.
Southern Utah

Last week my brother and some friends hiked a slot canyon down in southern Utah. One of the guys with us who works for the BLM happened to have a case of MRE’s (Meal ready to Eat) in the back of his truck. He wanted to get rid of them so we each chose a meal to our liking ( I chose the Chicken with noodles) and headed out. I’ve only had an MRE once before and it was years ago. I remember not liking it very much, but I wanted to try it again to see if anything had changed. I was thoroughly impressed at how dang fast and well it cooked my meal and at how good it was! I think I want to eat those every day now. Since they’re mainly for military, and people like forest firefighters, etc, I was a little shocked at all the packaging. Everything is individually wrapped and is a lot to pack out, but they seem to do the job. I thought I would post a few little gems I found in my MRE that I liked.
This nice little personal serving of toilet paper is nice and compact. I like the repeated stamped branding on the front.
I don’t know what it is, but I’m always drawn to packaging with simple type and plain brown paper.
Perhaps it’s the kerning or the bold black on green…I’ll keep these puppies close by should my surrounding environment turn damp.

Check this out…kind of hard to read toward the bottom (‘Gallery’), but it’s pure brilliance!
